Radio antenna

Note the pole supporting one end of radio antenna wires on the roof. Radios of the 1920s needed a outside antenna for good reception. I remember as a kid in the 1950s I could still see the remnants of radio antennas strung between the chimneys of many older houses. But they were quickly being replaced by TV antennas.
