Air Cooled

The driver in this top-down photo is not the only air-cooled item here; the engine was air-cooled as well -- as was the case in all Franklins. That feature was not the builder's only unique engineering approach; another was a continuous attempt to keep Franklins as light as possible -- long before government CAFE standards prompted carmakers to lighten up in the name of fuel efficiency.
