Automation has robbed America of some of its best jobs. Last time I went to the public pool, there was a showerhead over the locker room exit, instead of the personal touch of a man with a hose.

He seems a little young to be a lifeguard. And the word on the bottom of the Red Cross swimming badge ends in -or, so it could be Instructor or even (more likely) Senior or Junior.
