VINTAGRAPH • WPA • WWII • YOU MEAN A WOMAN CAN OPEN IT?

Roadhouse: (Colorized): 1929

Colorized from this Shorpy member-submitted photo. Colorized with Gimp. Digital grain added to keep it looking like a photo. Lots of decisions regarding colors of clothes and details of the patterns. Wasn't sure what color to use for the boy's shirt as a lot of the other colors were already bluish. I thought the photo needed some punch so decided on red.
People say the boy's shirt is too bright, but it actually looks better red than when I first made it green. The man in the middle, to me, looks like Joe Scarborough of MSNBC. View full size.
