Delivery wagon

The wagon on the far corner has a number of what looks like metal cans with pour spouts. My first thought was lamp/coal oil delivery. I would have thought Boston would be electrified (at least the more affluent areas, there's a street light on the other corner) in 1906. Any guesses as to what these really are?

Street surface

The pavement (or lack of) has a lot of catching up to do to match the elegance of this structure.
