"Coal miner during May 1939 strike. Kempton, West Virginia." 4x5 acetate negative by John Vachon for the Resettlement Administration. View full size.
I found pictures of Burnside stoves with at least two makers in West Virginia: the Charleston Foundry Co. and the West Virginia Foundry & Stove Co. in Huntington. I've seen the model number on the door as high as 18, but I cannot with any certainty make out the number on this one.
