Buried Memory

I must have had a rain outfit with a hood like that when I was a small boy, because looking at those I can immediately feel the rain dribbling in at the sides.

Habits

At first glance I thought they were nuns.

Low accident rate?

I guess these gals went back home after the war. Based on the astonishing number of Oakland car crash pictures from the late 40s and 50's we have seen here on Shorpy, there sure wasn't anyone ensuring safety by then!

Whatever they were doing

to keep Oakland's accident rate low apparently didn't work very well, as evidenced by the NUMEROUS Oakland traffic accident meme photos posted hereon.

The very latest in rainwear

Love the gathered waist. Slims as it sheds.
