Sharecroppers in the Savannah River Valley

My family lived in Lowndesville, SC from the early 1800's until the late 1920's when they moved to the city of Greenville, SC to work in the mills. My grandparents worked as sharecroppers there in the Savannah River valley until they couldn't pay property taxes or make a living anymore. I love your latest pic from Hartwell, Georgia. It reminds me of my family back then. Very hard life.
