American Pickers: 1943

May 1943. "Corpus Christi, Texas. Truckload of Mexican and Negro farm laborers." Photo by John Vachon for the Office of War Information. View full size.

Hugo's Boss

Notably well dressed for farm laborers! Striped collared button-downs, belts, and fedoras. Could be in any fashion magazine today except, of course, for the heart-felt smiles.

Wonderful photo

So much youth, energy and optimism in this picture!
