In praise of duckpins
I grew up with duckpins and enjoy that form of bowling over tenpins (brute force) or candlepins (too hard). It’s getting hard to find duckpin lanes, but don’t miss the chance.

According to Wikipedia, "Sylvia of Hollywood" was born in 1881. She's 55 years old in this picture! Fitness and beauty indeed!

Born in 1881, she would be 55 in this photo! An early fitness guru to the stars (her methods were proper diet, exercise, and painful massage to “squeeze off fat”), she weighed 157 pounds at age 40 but worked herself down to 95 in response to the wandering eye of her first husband. She was on her second husband at the time of this picture, who (sources differ) was either 11 or 22 years younger, but they both died within a month of each other in 1975.
