Classic Beauty

Ava Gardner, the slender beauty who filled the void left by the fall from grace of Ingrid Bergman ("America's Sweetheart"), was in turn supplanted by the far more lavishly upholstered Marilyn Monroe. Notably, Monroe's "look" now seems far more dated than Gardner's, whose enduring appeal fits the very definition of "classic."

Ava Gardner

Small town girl from NC makes it big in Hollywood. And you can see why that is from this picture.

Cover Girl

Note how the retouching around Ava's eyes has, after 65 years, turned brown on the transparency.
