To the left of the electrical outlet above the table, the wallpaper has been carefully incised, peeled back, and then repasted. This house was probably electrified only within the last decade, and the electrician took care to minimize the mess. Atop the cabinet, at left behind the electric percolator, there is a kerosene lamp, in case the new technology is not so reliable.
