Sure, the crowd has changed

But the horse droppings are still in place.

It's the Cadillac of hotels

Drape heights, plus the curtain billowing outward onto the fire escape, and open windows tell you the two photographs were taken on the same day in 1906. My guess is the first had the plume of smoke and the photographer waited for it to clear before taking the second.
