As I write this, we here in sunny California are experiencing our first big rain of the season, so I submit this as a farewell to summer and its Kodachrome-blue skies. My father, enjoying the fruits of his labors: the deck, the arbor, the stairs, the lattice fence, and of course, the garden. Actually, this is late spring, so the area along the fence is not the riot of color it would have been a couple months earlier. The flat appears to be sprouting a new batch of bedding plants, however. On the second step up, the black cylindrical object is the case for the fish-eye attachment I used for this shot.
