This looks like it was taken in San Francisco. The lady in the front seat looks like she is holding a doll. Car appears to be from mid teens.
"Me and Mrs. Grillo." Circa 1948 Anscochrome transparency of my grandmother (on the left) at her house in Miami Shores with Mrs. Grillo, who rented a garage apartment there. View full size.
Known as the Velocipede, these bikes were used on the railroad for track inspectors and many other employees. This was a great great step grandfather inspecting the rails on the Pennsy in the late 30's. The original picture was printed backward but due to technology today I was able to investigate and flip it correctly.
This photo was maybe taken by Loleta, Calif in Humboldt County. The car appears to have gotten tangled up with a train. Looks like early thirties Ford. Photographer unknown.
This is lumber mill in Glendale Humboldt County, Calif. Someone had written on the picture "first picture of the mill, 1883," this is about the time it was built. In the foreground you can see the logs coming out of the log pond. This photo had a lot of damage on the top third, I cleaned it up the best I could. Photographer is unknown.
This is the town of Fields Landing on north side of Humboldt Bay in Calif. The main road that goes to the foot of the bay leads to a whaling station. The large building to the front is known as the whalers inn. Postmark on this post card is dated 1912.
A brand new B-24 at the Willow Run bomber plant in Ypsilanti Michigan. In the month of April 1944, this plant was producing a complete B-24 every 60 minutes.
Mr & Mrs James Granville Stovall (nee Loretta Roan Wayland), who were married at Christmas time, 1899. They lived in Limestone County, Texas but went to Waco, to Jackson Studio, to record their newly married state and some obvious prosperity. This is another portrait taken at the same time as the more traditional pose of the gentleman seated and the lady standing. They are my maternal grandparents.
This is my grandmother and great-grandmother, Bernadine & Elsie Buck, in the wheat country of Davenport, Washington. View full size.
