(To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

This Anscochrome slide was taken by my father when we lived in the Los Angeles area in the very early 1950s. I know he was a rockhound back in those days, and this is now a nationally protected area, but perhaps not so much so 60+ years ago! View full size.
