Storm King Roadbuilders: c. 1912

Somewhere in this photo of the process of building the highway around the face of Storm King Mountain in about 1912, is my dad's teenage half uncle, Clayton C. MacNeal. Once part of US Highway 9-W linking West Point to Cornwall-on-Hudson New York, it is now called NY 218, and driving it today is a rather thrilling experience, but the views of the Mid-Hudson River valley from there are as spectacular as ever.
