As I grew up on Esdras Place in Riverside (now Windsor), Ontario, in the mid-1950s there were some big parties. Harry Slobasky is pictured here ready to document the shenanigans. The man wearing the fedora behind him bears a striking resemblance to Howard Hughes. Their home had a large basement rec room with wet bar, and on Saturday we would visit and be treated to Coca-Colas. Racy artwork adorned the walls. This may have been the final stop for a progressive dinner and a party to ring in the New Year. My father took this Kodachrome slide. A happy New Year and a big thank you to all the folks at Shorpy.
