Mr. & Mrs. Robert Vanella 1921

This photo shows the wedding party of my great-grandparents Robert Vanella to Sadie Faranda in New York City, 1920 or 21. The best man (sitting to the bride's left) is one John Torrio. He was said to be my great-grandfather's cousin and was definitely his "business associate." Vanella, also know as Roxy Vanelli owned and operated Vanella Funeral Chapel at 27-29 Madison Street in Manhattan. The funeral home still stands and is operated by distant relatives of mine.
