My mother, then named Arlene Weinstein and called "Rusty" by her friends because of her rust red hair, poses with two of her Brooklyn neighbors on a street near their home. She is in the center, dressed to the nines, as she always was. Back of photo says Rubie Cohen, 953 45th St, and Jack Katzman, 942 45th St, in writing that dates to the time of the picture, and Doris Landman, Arlene, and Rube Cohen in writing added by my mother a half century later. My guess is there are actually four teens hanging out in Brooklyn on this mid 1940's day. Perhaps Jack is taking the picture. Mostly I like this picture for the car (which did not belong to any of them or their families). View full size.
