This is the first of three submissions, taken from the driver's seat on a trip eastbound on the QEW to Toronto (Queen Elizabeth Way, opened as the first concrete controlled-access divided highway in Canada, between Toronto and Niagara Falls, by the King and Queen of England in 1939). This was Sunday morning, Labour Day weekend, 1979. That's why the highway is surprisingly open, but there're still enough period vehicles to see.
These shots were a lot harder to do than today, as I had to look through the viewfinder of my SLR film camera. When you're young, stupidity in the mirror is closer than it appears. View full size.
