Summer vacation on the Metedeconk River, NJ, always meant a boat parade on the 4th of July. This was taken in 1941, five months before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Our lives changed that year. Dad was busy building ships for the U.S. Navy, I went on to college and the young man steering the "Patsy Anne" finished high school and enlisted in the US Maritime Service (Merchant Marine).
