Service that never ends

When someone is a veteran of a bloody battle on the order of Gettysburg, his service is never really over because he then has to live with the memories of it for the rest of his life. The gratitude and support of others is extremely important.
This old gentleman reminds me of the late stuntman and actor Richard Farnsworth. I wish we knew more about him!

No words strong enough to thank all the men and women throughout all the wars that have sacrificed their lives so we can live the life we have. I love my Country and my American flag so much but there are other mothers, fathers, family members from other countries grieving for their lost children. Sorry, didn't mean to do a commentary - just my heartfelt thanks!!! (Especially to my VVW husband and my Army Chaplain son from Iraq!
Okay, done, now. I might write a book if I don't stop!

As indicated by the grey coat and hat, official uniform of the United Confederate Veterans. And the Virginia delegate badge is another giveaway.
