So What is Jaime?

If Ambro had a sister named Annie (age 19 at this time) and a sister named Florine (27 by this time and most likely married or off on her own) what/who is this Jamie? A cousin? Or is this Annie which was written wrong for the caption because the writer didn't understand a South Carolina accent well enough?

Ambro Sherley (boy)

Ambrose 'Ambro' Shirley was born on June 24 1897 in White Oaks SC to Thomas F (b 1860) and Martha 'Mattie' (nee Street) b 1871, he appears to have had 2 sisters Annie b 1889 d 1950 and Florine b 1881 and 1 brother Arthur b 1893.
According to his 1942 draft registration form in 1942 he was working for the Packard Motor Company in Norfolk Va, giving his next of kin as his daughter Annie Mae Estes.

any more info would be appreiciated.

Jamie is most likely Annie, Mr Joe Manning says that Hine fairly often didn't get the name correctly

Jamie Shirley: 1908

This is Joe Manning, of the Lewis Hine Project. Ambro Shirley died in Rock Hill, SC, in 1971. He was 75.
