Life buoy colour?

I had a go at colorizing the image. Wasn't sure what colour the life buoy actually was. Any ideas?

How do they do it

I cannot I I agile having a waist as small as the woman standing on the ground - looks like an 18 inch waist (with "largish" hips). They are having a ball!!!
