About the Photos

Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. (To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

LHO?

That guy on the right looks like Lee Harvey Oswald. I know Oswald had some connection to Knoxville. He supposedly visited a museum there 2 weeks before JFK's assassination. Not sure if he would be too young in 1941 for this, or where he was at the time. Interesting.

[A quick Google search tells us Lee Harvey Oswald was 2 years old in 1941. -tterrace]

I Don't Want What He Got

Dave, your wit is insanely infectious!

Damaged Lives (1933)

An extramarital affair leads to a young couple contracting venereal disease. Stars: Diane Sinclair, Lyman Williams, Harry Myers and Jason Robards Senior. There is a file for the film in IMDB.com as well.
