Foss, Oklahoma, 1907. Mail carriers, mode of transport: Harley Davidson motorcycles. Photograph taken by my great-grandfather, Edward M. Blunck. View full size.
This made me do a little searching. Evidently Foss was another town that for a time benefited from its proximity to Rt 66 and suffered when it was replaced by I-40. Wiki lists the population of that town today as 150. The building in the harley photo that housed the PO was there at least as late as 59 but all but gone by the '70s. Its an empty lot today.
Thanks for sharing this. That's a very cool photo.
