I am not sure where this photo was taken or when, there was no information upon the photo. I wish I knew the story....I figure it was a school photo it is just an amazement to look at this and imagine the lifestyle... No smiles either...

Thank you for the information, I am actually trying to read into it, this photograph was found with a journal written in a different language. Hope to really find other interesting facts by finding someone who may interpret the journal.

Looks like late 1800's. At the time, people posed for photo portraits the same way they did for painted portraits, which took way too long for people to hold a smile.
