Most of the photos on this site were extracted from reference images (high-resolution tiffs, 20 to 200 megabytes in size) from the Library of Congress research archive. (To query the database click here.) Many were digitized by LOC contractors using a Sinar studio back. They are adjusted by your webmaster for contrast and color in Photoshop before being downsized and turned into the jpegs you see here.

That's the U.S. 12/20/45 overpass (Mannheim Road). To the left it heads south to Bellwood. North of this yard (check out how big it still is today on Google Maps satellite view!) is the Stone Park/Northlake area.
I think it's Proviso YD and if you look in the background there's another overpass that Jack probally used in the previous picture, the large object on the flat car on the left shows up in the other photo as well
