VINTAGRAPH • WPA • WWII • YOU MEAN A WOMAN CAN OPEN IT?

Celia Banton

This was found by me today at our local swap shop, which is basically where unsold lawn sale items go before they are thrown away. I found this picture along with a newspaper clipping with this woman's name, Celia Banton. The only thing I know is that she won a scholarship, but nothing more. I am thinking she is local from Camden or Rockport Maine, where this picture was likely taken during the 1940's. View full size.

Who she might be

She is the girl some guy dated a long time ago and now sadly wishes he had married.

That's a face that would always stay in a guy's memory if he had ever held her in his arms.
