My grandmother, Katherine Brown Malpede, is on the right with her sister, Margaret. What I love about this picture is that it is taken in the front yard of the family house and you can see how vastly different Los Angeles used to be. The area (Vermont Avenue) is actually now a pretty bad part of the city, but it used to be so pretty.

thanks for the contribution. I stay in Los Angeles. Could you please tell me where on Vermont that photo was taken. And it is indeed a bad place today.
