This is a photo of my cousin Troy, the kid wearing the red tie, and myself, the one in the dirty tee shirt on the left. It was taken in 1968 and depicts our great relief after being found by our parents after hours wandering in the Alabama backwoods behind Troy's house - the one in the photo. Troy wore ties at that time because he thought it made him look like Elvis Presley. Troy and I wandered onto a  neighbor's property who took us in and called our parents. View full size.

This is a photo of my mom and dad in 1963. I believe my dad was riding a 51 Harley. My mom's twin sister and her husband were also on the trip and the other bike in the photo belonged to them. They were riding from Birmingham, Alabama and here they are at the state line. View full size.

First grade for my great uncle William "Willie" Granewitsch Jr. (upper left corner), Westfield, NY., 1889. Willie arrived in the United States three years earlier on May 15, 1886, aboard the "Wieland". He sailed from Hamburg, Germany with his mother Augusta Kruger Granewitsch, his two younger sisters, Bertha and Henretta, and his uncle Henry Kruger. The family reunited with his father, William Sr. in Westfield, NY. William Sr. had arrivied in the United States eight months earlier on October 24, 1885, aboard the "State of Alabama". I purchased a group of images over the weekend at an event called Trade Days at Tannihill Ironworks Historical State Park in McCalla, Alabama. This photo was among them. I do not know where it was taken but some of the other images in the group indicate that they are of the Taylor family. One of the photos was dated 1906 and was signed Walter Taylor, Elmira NY. Another photo said it was from Okla. View full size.
