First Grade for Willie

First grade for my great uncle William "Willie" Granewitsch Jr. (upper left corner), Westfield, NY., 1889. Willie arrived in the United States three years earlier on May 15, 1886, aboard the "Wieland". He sailed from Hamburg, Germany with his mother Augusta Kruger Granewitsch, his two younger sisters, Bertha and Henretta, and his uncle Henry Kruger. The family reunited with his father, William Sr. in Westfield, NY. William Sr. had arrivied in the United States eight months earlier on October 24, 1885, aboard the "State of Alabama".
