On the Detroit/Windsor Ferry: 1924

Before the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit/Windsor tunnel were built in 1929, ferry boats ran between these two international cities on the Detroit River. Unique outfit!

The little girl's outfit is very cute and quite unique, I think! I can't imagine putting satin on a little girl, except for church or something fairly formal wear. I'll bet she was asked to be very careful!
