My dad (24) was still in the Navy and was a survivor of combat in the Pacific and the sinking of the USS Little (DD803) off the coast of Okinawa by kamikazes 3 years previous. A native of Akron Ohio, he passed away in '66. Mom (23) is a native San Franciscan who's still alive and kicking. She still laughs about that hat. View full size.
