While at PRESENT ARMS, all assembled are waiting the command that would eventually put them out of their misery. The action of this photo is easily identifiable by those of us who have endured this age-old military custom. My money is on Tinian as location, spring or summer of 1945, and the unit is the 313th Bombardment Wing. In observance of an important event such as a change of command or presentation of one of the several Distinguished Unit Citations awarded in 1945. I imagine Bill Schultz is in the photo suffering under the Pacific sun.
