The reptiles could have been a preliminary study of M. C. Escher's Reptiles, used by the English rock band Mott the Hoople for an album cover in 1969.

This reminds me of what I see when laying on the floor at the bar after having too much to drink! A good case for abstinence!! Luckily, that hasn't happened in quite a few years!
