I wish I knew

I'm a novelist. I believe that for me, the coolest thing about Shorpy.com is the yearning it gives me to know more about the subjects of the photos. This little girl. Who is she waiting for? How did life turn out for her? It's Christmas Eve, 1941. World War II is on, America is in. Where is she going? Where did she come from? I wish I knew, I really do.
