Missing a town I never knew

This and the other photos of Washington from 100+ years ago make me nostalgic for a town I never knew (although I grew up in nearby Falls Church). All these quiet neighborhoods and simple buildings have been replaced by either massive marble buildings, or more modern glass and steel. P.S. that street sign is gorgeous.
