The Metro replaced the train

This is the north side of Virginia Avenue S.W., looking southeast toward Sixth Street now. L'Enfant Plaza and the aboveground Metro tracks consumed this stretch of Virginia Avenue. The south side of the avenue, to the right, still runs through.
