Album

On the footstool you have an "album". Four or five records in one cover that represent one release from the record company on a single subject.

Before LPs, this was the meaning of an album!

Note how ...

the *cough* ladies -- I know I'm not supposed to say that -- are decorating the shellac resin with their dainty fingerprints, a tradition which continued through to the vinyl era, to my certain knowledge.

Neighborhood James Dean

Well, hello, Mr. Standing In the Doorway. I bet you never had a problem getting a date.

I remember it well

I have always enjoyed listening to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, it is timeless.

And when she puts the needle down the people will fall silent and stare into
nothingness and wrap themselves in the soft soothing sounds of the Nutcracker.

Where enchantment and pleasant past memories dwell.

Think I could

... singlehandedly bring back saddle oxfords with striped ankle socks, for fall? Even at my age? I think I'll try. Off to Amazon to shop for the shoes.

Classic!

["Above Suspicion" by Helen MacInnes. - Dave]

Wham-O didn't exist yet

... but the audiophile in me is screaming, "They're not Frisbees!"

Lotta nieces and nephews

The 1940 census and other records suggest that Glen Eaker and his wife Emma Camille Eaker had no children, but that Glen had several older siblings, who each had several children.
