1920s - George Phillips and friends

Lurtie Jay, George Phillips, and Ernest Ireton standing in front of a sod house. The license plate appears to read 1929 but the photo is dated 1927 on the reverse. The group was likely in the Alliance area of Cherry County, Nebraska.

It is 1929.

Regardless of the date on the back, this pic must have been taken in 1929. That is a white on black 1929 Farm Truck plate (F before plate number), with Cherry County's 66 prefix. 1927 Nebraska plates had differently shaped numbers.
