What you have may be under the umbrella of "synesthesia" which has been extensively researched. My daughter sees colors from musical notes, some people get tastes from certain words, i.e. the name "Marvin" tastes like sink rust, quite a phenomenon, you might want to look it up. I'm not kidding.
Has anyone else experienced this.....You go through the list of pictures on Shorpy and then click on one random photo of an individual. All of a sudden, you smell some sort of aroma, possibly cologne, and then you think if this is the cologne or perfume that this person used when they were alive. The scent is so strong that I get goosebumps and it feels like the person in the pictures is right here.
Gosh, I guess Norman Mailer got off easy for stabbing HIS wife at an infamous party in the 60's.
Sad story though,- talent, madness, early death. Novelistic. Glad there are photos to tell the story, and Shorpy to share it. Much appreciate it.
