The front of the building has undergone extensive renovations, stairs removed, statue removed, doorways added... but otherwise the building itself remains the same today.

[The statue is still there. You're confusing the Treasury building (above, on Pennsylvania Avenue) with the Patent Office (below, on G Street). - Dave]

I knew that I St. is sometimes rendered as Eye St., but gee, I didn't know about G Street...
