Those must be elite troops

They really look like members of a "crack" infantry battalion!

Pass me the smelling salts

and get me to the fainting couch. Lovely!

Step right up

I'm interested in the point of view from which this was taken. Either the photographer perched on what appears to be very flimsy outside walls, or he (?) positioned a ladder just so, or the shower station was built right under somebody's window. Any way you "look" at it, the episode seems peculiar--until you remember that it's the military.

[Maybe it was taken from the water tank. - Dave]

What Cheek!

Slipping in yet another gem for the viewing pleasure of Shorpyites of the female persuasion. Thank you, Dave. You've certainly got a lot of cheek today! And how!

Programming

The guy in the tub looks more like he'd have offspring starring on "Hee-Haw" or an opry. Much too goofy to be a Gomer.

Tranquillity Base

I think that's a "moon landing" site in the background -- the company latrine!

Awesome!!

Best Shorpy photo title. Evah! But I gotta wonder. What's Gomer doing in the washtub with all his clothes on?

Cold War

While soldiering in Thailand in the early sixties, my comrades and I showered in similar facilities. I still shiver when I think of those cold showers.

OK Ladies

For all the female Shorpy viewers, no more complaining that you are left out. Now you're spoiled!

Nat'l Guard

Army hinies are funny.

Is that Gomer Pyle

in the washtub?

(and Michelangelo's David in the foreground? hubba hubba!)
