1938 Los Angeles flood

The massive floods in the Los Angeles basin in the spring of 1938 led to the channelization and paving of the major rivers of LA. Here, an unknown lad, is out exploring his neighborhood (most likely Highland Park) during one of a series of storms. Probably not a lot of gas sold that day. My Dad would have been 19 when he took this picture. Photo: Don Hall, Sr. View full size.
