Me and Lance: 1976

This was me and my dog Lance back in 1976. I was seven years old. Our family just loved him. He was so spoiled, too.
My step-dad taught him how to climb a ladder, so he learned to climb fences as well. He used to runaway and visit his girl dog friend. Would be gone for a day or two then return.
Then one day in 1983, he left and never returned again. I like to think that someone kept him and gave him a good home too, 'till he went to doggy heaven. View full size.

Early retirement.

I say Lance and his girlfriend moved to a senior dog home. Nothing but soft food, big pillows, and no more fences to jump. A lush life.
