The well water had a sweet taste to it and I remember how much I loved it over the chemical taste of city water. Harry Sr., Hank (striped shirt) and George. 1957 Kodachrome slide taken near Blandinsville, Illinois. View full size.

Well v. City Water

Love the buzz haircuts!! We ended up being the only house in the neighborhood with well water. It seemed terribly unsophisticated at the time. I don't remember it tasting sweet though. I recall an iron taste. My mother used to have those little paper Dixie cup dispensers in the bathroom and kitchen. Perhaps they interfered with the taste.
