Not buying it.I seriously doubt that this little girl kitty can lift and throw a bowling ball.

Photograph taken by an itinerant photographer somewhere in Brown County, Texas in 1905. My grandfather, 28, was farming cotton for his wife Laura's father. Two years later the family moved to Ira, Texas, where my grandfather bought a farm and raised 6 children. View full size.
#4 Is On The WayJudging by Grandma's dress, #4 will soon be joining the family.
I can't tell what the child in front has. Is it a pull toy? A kitten on a string? Any ideas?
Great buildingsI love this photo! What are the two buildings, I wonder? A very small house on the left, probably. Is the log cabin a kitchen? At first I wondered about its being a barn, but there is no fence around it. The house has no basement, not even a foundation. Might still have been cold in the winter, but maybe Texas doesn't get all that cold.

Childhood is serious business! These kids seem serious about what they are up to, whether headed home for a snack, just saying hi to the black kitten, or laying out plans for a neighborhood invasion. Without seeing their faces, one can imagine all sorts of plans and thoughts.
If I'd lived there at that age, I would have made use of that space between the stairs as a mjor setting for kiddy human dramas. Or at least a parking garage for the trike!

Here is my Persian kitten, Zsa Zsa, standing up to my cousin's Cocker Spaniel, Copper, who wanted very badly to chase her. She was frightened, but would not give in. She stood there for several minutes until the dog finally got tired and went to lie down in his dog house. In the 14 years of her life, there was only one time a dog got the better of her and that was when she was hugely pregnant. She neither ran from a dog, nor got pregnant, ever again.View full size.
