About that corner building

The 2007 Google street view tells an interesting story.

And that corner building has had a rounded edge put onto it, losing two original corner windows in the process.

In Reply to tterrace : Wow it was completely gutted and rebuilt to match the original facade. Would be interesting to know why this much more expensive approach to modification was taken.

The detail of the 8x10 inch glass negative images continues to astonish.

Re: Electric sign?

"Brock Tailoring" is 15 characters, same as the number of black boxes. So I think you may be correct.

Electric Sign?

What is the bank of black "boxes" on top of the dentist building? Could it be an advertising sign for nighttime?

On the square

The Capital Trust Building has been converted to condos and is called 8 East Broad or 8 On The Square. They have added balconies and possibly an elevator shaft on the side of the building facing us.

Walking lunch

For a time in the '90s I worked at a law firm in the Leveque Tower at 50 Broad Street, and later at another office building on Broad, directly across from the original Wendy's restaurant. I and my co-workers enjoyed walking to the State House and strolling the grounds, or occupying a bench, on fine days -- of which there were many. Lovely city.
